The D1 Nation Recruiting Edge
This is the beginning of my 12th year of involvement with the summer basketball scene. As founder of the Texas D1 Ambassadors I’ve had the privelege of coaching many high level players at National Camps and coaching Texas players for 9 years on the “circuit”. It was with mixed emotions two years ago when I stepped down from coaching on a regular basis and took on my Founder role and perhaps most importantly formed up the D1 Nation which now stretches across several states.
Below with Rex Walters (San Francisco), Matt Doherty (SMU), Willis Wilson/Marty Gross (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi), Billy Gillispie (Texas Tech) and Travis Ford (Oklahoma State) just to name a few.
One of the key components of the D1 Nation’s success and the opportunities it presents for the players in our respective communities is the recruiting pipeline. Most organizations that rank players and such charge college coaching staffs a pretty penny for “insider recruiting tips”. I made a conscious decision to NEVER personally charge colleges for information regarding college prospects. This is a significant part of our incredible growth. Every college coach in the country has access to my insider reports at NO CHARGE.
As a result there is a trust, friendship and bond established where I’ve been blessed to have coaches from every Division One conference call me on a daily basis asking for feedback on players. This feedback includes academic information, social tendenceies of the player as well as the obvious of evaluating their talents. Are you part of the D1 Nation’s Recruiting Edge? Inquiries are welcome.-Coach Max Ivany
