D1 Nation Alumni NCAA Top 25 Performances of the Week

This week the D1 Nation had some scintillating performances. We also had a couple of newcomers to our performers of the week as two of our freshmen made their inaugural place on the top performances.

25.  Mark Nwakamma  Fr     6’6″         Leander (TX)                                        Hartford

Nwakamma continues to imprint himself with increased minutes as he had 12 points 3 rebounds and 3 assists vs the Maine Black Bears.

24. Travis Jones              Sr.   6’6″          Georgetown (TX)                               Texas State

Jones had 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists  vs McNeese State

23.  Zay Jackson              Fr.  6’0″      Hammond St. Thomas Aquinas (LA)    Murray State

Murray State has run out to a 20-0 record and New Orleans D1 alum Zay Jackson is becoming a bigger part of that success. The athletic guard had 7 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals vs Morehead State.

22. Andre Roberson      So. 6’7″            Converse Wagner (TX)                       Colorado

Roberson, one of the nation’s most dynamic sophomores scored 15 points and 4 rebounds vs Stanford.

21. Joel Smith                 Jr. 6’4″            Leander (TX)                                          Northeastern

Smith had 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists vs Georgia State

20.  Royce O’Neale         Fr. 6’5″            Harker Heights (TX)                            Denver

O’Neale had 10 p0ints, 8 rebounds and 3 assists vs Louisiana-Monroe.

19. Texas State Senior Travis Jones makes his second appearance on the list as he had 18 points and 3 rebounds vs Texas-San Antonio.

18. Hartford Freshman Forward Mark Nwakamma had 14 points and 7 rebounds vs Binghamton.

17. Jordan Clarkson      So. 6’5″           Converse Wagner (TX)                        Tulsa

Clarkson had 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists vs Tulane

16. Clarkson’s 2nd of 3 appearances on this week’s list was a nifty 14 point, 6 rebound and 2 assist effort in a blowout win over Rice.

15. Cody Doolin                So. 6’2″          Austin Westlake (TX)                           San Francisco

Doolin had 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in a win over Portland.  He also had zero turnovers.

14. Royce O’Neale’s 2nd appearance on the list was a 16 point, 4 rebound and 2 assist performance.

13. Cameron Moore       Sr. 6’10″         San Antonio Roosevelt (TX)           Alabama-Birmingham

Moore had 13 points and 9 rebounds vs Southern Mississippi

12. Northeastern’s  Joel Smith’s trifecta performance was a 14 point, 5 rebound and 4 assist performance vs William & Mary.

11. Andre Roberson led the Colorado Buffaloes over Arizona State with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists.

10. Trevante Drye             Fr. 6’6″          Baton Rouge Glen Oaks (LA)           Tulane

True freshman Tre Drye’s first ever appearance on the list landed him in the Top 10! He started the season geting a couple of minutes a game but kept working hard and now he’s getting big minutes.  He had 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists vs Texas-El Paso

9. Cameron Moore has been so consistent that you expect a huge performance from him every time out. He had 12 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks vs Central Florida.

8. John Henson              Jr. 6’11″         Round Rock (TX)                                North Carolina

In what was a quiet week for Henson he had 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks versus Virginia Tech.

7. TaShawn Thomas    Fr. 6’8″           Killeen (TX)                                          Houston

Thomas continues to fill the stat sheet for the Houston Cougars.  He had 17 points and 12 rebounds vs East Carolina.

 

6. J.J. Avila                      So. 6’7″           McAllen (TX)                                       Navy

Avila had 18 points and 11 rebounds vs Colgate.

5. Tulsa Sophomore Clarkson’s 3rd appearance on the Top 25 was a 23 point, 3 rebound and 6 assist performance vs East Carolina.

4.  Denver frosh “Rolls” Royce O’Neale continues to build his performances for the tough Denver Pioneers. He had 21 points 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocks in his performance of the year vs North Texas.

3. Navy’s J.J. Avila is a one man wrecking crew for the Midshipmen. He has 24 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 steals vs American.

2. Avila shell shocked fellow Academy rivals, West Point as he personally kicked the Mules with a 21 point, 14 rebound and 6 steals in the Patriot League.

1. Cameron Moore’s 3rd perofmance was his best.  He piled up 22 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals against the Rice.  It left the Owls saying “Who Who”? That’s Cameron Moore, Baby!
