Kevin Marshall

6’0”         160          2012       Wilsonville HS

I recently had an opportunity to chat with Kevin on the phone and ask him a couple of questions about his upcoming senior campaign with Wilsonville High School, his academic track record, and recruitment.
1.  What is your outlook for this upcoming season? Team wise we are going to try and win our 4th consecutive league title.  We also are going to try and make it to back to MAC Court [The home gym of the Oregon Ducks and host site to the state tournament here in Oregon for both the 5A and 6A classification].  Personally, I want to already play in the Les Schwab Invitational because the level of competition is incredible.  I also want to average a double-double in points and assists, let the game come to me, and help guarantee victory for our team.
2.  What are things you are working on during this off season before your senior campaign? I am working on my overall game all the time.  I am always trying to improve to help myself during the regular season.  I have been concentrating on are getting stronger so that I can handle the wear and tear of a full basketball season.  I am also working on my consistency for my outside jumper so that I can continue developing a complete and all around  game.  Also, I am always working on my dribbling since my position requires me to do it so often, that way I can handle any pressure thrown at me.
3.  What is a major strength in your game? I feel that the biggest strength in my game is my court awareness.  I feel that I am always able to find my open teammates and put pressure on the other team by having them always having to focus on my passing ability.

4.  What is your favorite class? My favorite class this year is AP Economics.

5.  What is your least favorite class?Kevin: That’s a tough question.  Do you mean now or in general?
Francisco: You can give me subject area or classes you have had in the past
Kevin: Well in that case it would be Chemistry

6.  What is your cumulative GPA?My overall GPA is 3.3.

7.  What do you plan on majoring in college? I can see myself majoring in Business, Architecture, or Engineering.  I like all of those subject areas and I am pretty open to figuring out which one of those is the right fit for me.

8.  What colleges are currently recruiting you? The colleges that have shown interest and have been in contact with me are: Lewis and Clark College (Oregon), Pacific Lutheran University (Washington), University of Portland, Montana State University Billings, Idaho State University, Whitman University (Washington), Whitworth University (Washington), Utah State University, and University of Alaska Anchorage.

9. What schools are you currently interested in attending? The schools that I am interested in attending are: University of Portland, Idaho, Portland State University, Seattle University, Santa Clara University (California), Eastern Washington, Gonzaga University (Washington), and Boise State University
