Las Vegas: Day Three
In some divisions of the various tournaments today marks the beginning of bracket play, while others finish their last pool game (s).
Texas D1 Ambassadors-San Antonio 63 Dallas DHJ5 55
With the entire Big XII on hand, a game filled with prospects was DOMINATED by 2012 F 6’9″ Connor Lammert of San Antonio Churchill. With Texas Tech Head Coach Billy Gillispie, and SMU Boss Man, Matt Doherty on hand (as they have for every minute of every game Lammert has played during the live period) and Texas Head Coach Rick Barnes paying close attention Lammert showed his complete package. He dropped 5 first half three pointers en route to a 31 point explosion. He dominated the boards and showed some nifty passing ability to round out the day. We’ll have more about Lammert’s offers later on Monday.
In the Fab 48 both of the Texas D1 Ambassadors squads bowed out by blowing late leads.
R&R Soldiers (CA) 71 Texas D1 Ambassadors-Austin 67
Play Hard Play Smart (CA) 74 Texas D1 Ambassadors-Houston 68
An 8-12 point lead the entire game slipped away in the final three minutes once again because of poor shot selection, errant free throw shooting and an inability to take care of the ball. 2012 Aly Mohamed dominated down low where he had 19 points. 2012 G Chase Brogna, 2012 G Darryl Milburn of Baton Rouge McKinley (LA) and 2012 G Devon Turk all added 12 points. The D1 Ambassadors-Houston now head to Phoenix to compete in the Desert Duel Memorial, the jewel of the summer circuit.
