D1 Nation Players of the Week
From now until the end of the Texas State Playoffs (UIL & TAPPS) I’m going to announce the D1 Nation Player of the Week. I’ll announce one from Austin/Killeen & one from San Antonio/South Texas (for the previous Monday-Saturday). So, without further ado here are my inaugural honorees.
The long (6’4″), bouncy Washington has made the transition from being a wing to a combo guard in his senior year. He’s leading a potent Pflugerville Hendrickson squad in scoring. However, he does so much more. He’s also the team’s leading rebounder. In two games last week he averaged 31 ppg. Washington decided not to accept any of his early D1 offers in November, playing unsigned. The move is paying off as he’s going to be one of the gems available in the April signing period. Now schools like UNLV are starting to sniff around.
